2010 New Year's Day Ride PDF Print

New Years day ride66 Sign by Price Tower Nine hearty and adventuresome Pedalers ventured forth on a very bright and brisk New Year's Day for the Club's first ride of the New Year 2010.  Enjoying the ride were: Keith Clark, Kevin Doggett, Peter Estes, Alan Freeman, Marsha Greenland, Dale and Judy Munn, Sean Orta, and Dan Schultes.

The group began their 11 mile loop ride at Johnstone Park, basically traveling west, then north of the city for the outbound leg.  The return leg followed roads N3950 to W1775 to Highway123.

All roads except W1775 were basically very clear and dry, however, W1775 provided riding challenges because of its being shaded from the sun.

The ride ended at the "66" sign at the Community Center with a photo shot of the group commemorating Dale Munn's December 29th sixty sixth birthday.

Dirty Kanza 2009 PDF Print

This is on dirt / gravel roads in the Flint Hills - What are you thinking?"  There was a long pause and then he made this bold statement "We Can Do It".   I shook my head and said "OK - sign me up, why not - I don't have anything else to do on May 30th".   So that is how this adventure got started!!

Sometimes the Old Time Weather God's like to throw a spit ball at the new High Tech Radar Want-a-Bees .    I also see that 'Water Man' (aka Jack) has lost some of his adventurism or maybe he has gained some common sense  - either way Jack good call on delaying the Saturday 9am ride till noon.
