Six Bartlesville Pedalers completed the week long ride across Heaven better known as Iowa (RAGBRAI) from Rock Rapids to Bellevue during July 22-28, 2007. The Pedalers team was led by the 'Old guys' - Dale Munn, Norman Hinsdell (Big Dog) & Bruce Sturges (Sunshine), who gave inspiration and guidance to the 'young ones" - Keith Clark (Pop Tart), Dan Schultes (Gravel Man) & Dwight Ritter. It was an incredible experience to be cycling on the road with 15,000+ cyclists on nice Iowa roads.

The Bartlesville Pedalers board and general membership have once again approved support for On the Rock Ministries annual Youth Bicycle Trip. Malcolm and Barbara Joyce presented information about the the program at our recent membership meeting and expressed appreciation for Pedalers' support in years past. Costs of this program come from donations and from fund raising efforts of the youth participants. This program builds self-reliance, personal responsibility and chance to see bicycles as much more than toys through accomplishing long distance cycling goals that most participants could not imagine they would ever do.

The Bartlesville Pedalers Club will match member contributions up to a grand total of $250. If you wish to support this program you may send your contribution to Malcolm Joyce or to On the Rock Ministries. Please indicate clearly on your check or with your contribution that you are a Bartlesville Pedalers Club member.

Jack's Birthday Ride - 10Mar07 PDF Print E-mail

Can you ride your age and not your shoe size? Jack said he could and he did!!
To celebrate his 70th birthday, 17 riders met at Johnstone park for a birthday ride. There were 8 that went up to Tyro and back through Caney to do the 70 miles. Several more only went to Wann. Six riders had lunch at the Caney Kitchen and they did not abandon Jack at the turnoff north of Copan this time (it was for his B-day remember).
Here is a link to the route in case you missed it and can't wait to ride it. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=758965
