5 Riders Showing off Big 12 affiliation. Four Pedalers participate in RAGBRAI 2008 PDF Print
4 Pedalers on RAGBRAIFour pedaelrs went to Iowa this year to ride in the RAGBRAI ride.  This ride goes across Iowa from the East to the West.  Visit the gallery to see a selection of pictures from the ride.  See if you can determine which two riders went fom the Missouri river to the Mississipi river.  Can you determine whcih two couldn't find the Missouri and which one didn't get his tires dipped in the Mississipi?  All riders had a great time and recommend this ride as a great place to spend a week cycling/eating/visiting//camping.  We met several riders that had also done FreeWheel.  There were a lot of activities for participants, including a Styxx concert at Iowa State.  The towns that we rode trhough prepared different items to attract riders and all had lots of booths.

Three Pedalers complete the Death Ride, July 27, 2008 PDF Print

We made the cut off with lots of time to spare This is Kevin’s summary of the Flint Hills Death Ride held July 27, 2008 in Madison, KS.  Photos from the Death Ride can be viewed at http://bartlesvillepedalers.com/gallery/FlintHillsDeathRide2008.  For a thorough description of the Ride containing fewer “hydration” references, Sean has posted his Death Ride story at http://netpup.net/bikelog/2008-FlintHills/2008-FlintHills.html

Keith, Sean, and I all finished the ride; it was 83 miles according to the map but I measured 86.  Keith and I finished at 3:20 p.m. and Sean a few minutes later.  Keith and I spent 6-1/2 hours on the bike, 50 minutes at rest stops, and about 30 minutes fixing two flats I had between miles 60 and 70.
