2/24/11 Meeting Minutes

The date for the February Pedaler meeting was changed to Thursday, Feb 24 at 6:00, so that the venue could be moved to Luigi's at Pennington Hills shopping center, it’s Italian and delicious!  There were 14 members who attended and the meeting room was quite accommodating.  The meeting began promptly after everyone's orders were placed, at 6:30. The agenda went as follows:
 
Ø       Introductions (All)  13 current members and one new guest, Lori Roper                               
Ø       Announcements                                   
v      Keith had planned to provide updates to the club for Freewheel, but was unable to attend, so Dan and Kevin filled in.  The itinerary was discussed.  The ride will begin in Durant  and end in Caldwell, KS.  There is an optional ride to Red River and back on the first day and the opportunity to ride a one lane bridge.  It doesn't get much more exciting than this! 
Ø       Treasury report presented by Kevin:  Beginning balance was 2263.83, deposits were 80.00, withdrawals were 23.50 (for last meeting's remaining expenses after donations were used) and the ending balance was $2320.33.              
Ø       No mountain bike report as Corey was unable to attend.
Ø       Road bike report was presented by Rod. It was agreed that the March schedule for rides would be posted on the calendar of the web page.  Most likely beginning March 15 (after daylight savings time) the Tuesday and Thursday rides will begin at 6pm and the Saturday morning rides will begin at 10am.  Tuesday and Saturday rides depart from Johnstone park and Thursday rides depart from Sooner park.  Rod will also be soliciting ride leaders.  He is willing to provide routes and maps but wants club support in rotating designated ride leaders.  He is also currently pulling together a schedule for:
v      2011 calendar and

v      Spring Fling - ~May – who can coordinate??? Rhonda and Alan Freeman, that's who!  Hooray, and thank you to the Freemans for graciously volunteering.  They will co-ordinate the dates of the Spring Fling with the ride calendar that Rod is putting together.  Many destinations were discussed, and the Freemans will decide what will work best and announce the results soon, hopefully  at our next meeting.
