Alan Freeman called the meeting to order at 6:42 and welcomed several new guests and members.
Ginger McCullough summarized the spring training ride schedule (Tuesdays at 6 pm from Johnstone Park; Thursdays at 6 pm from Sooner Park; Saturdays at 10 am in March from Johnstone Park). Check the www.bartlesvillepedalers.com website for a ride schedule that indicates the monthly time shift for the Saturday rides (changing to 9 am in April). Rhonda Freeman reminded everyone about Spring Fling, the Pedaler’s annual camping trip with daytime road rides. It will be held at Washington Cove at Copan Lake May 2-4, with an option of arriving on May 1.
Bartlesville Pedaler member and Assistant Director of Oklahoma Freewheel Ross Snider was introduced to summarize the upcoming 2014 Freewheel bicycle tour across Oklahoma. It will start in Comanche on June 7, with other overnight stops in Marietta, Tishomingo, Pauls Valley, McCloud, Stillwater, Tonkawa, and ending in Caldwell, KS on June 14.
There will be a new shower truck vendor this year, with an air conditioned mobile shower truck. This vendor will also provide a second trailer with 800 post-office box style lockboxes, each with an electrical outlet inside so you can safely charge your phone, GPS, or other device.
On three of the days when the route passes through remote areas, a food truck will be set up along the route offering a different menu each day.
There will be criterium bike races going on in Stillwater the evening that Freewheel overnights there, and the races will be very near the Freewheel camping area in downtown Stillwater.
